However, his legacy continues to live on through the thousands of comics that he created and the large following that he built. Despite his sad passing, the laughs continue with David Weisglass and Raleigh Wood taking up the mantle to keep HERMAN going.

David Weisglass has worked closely with Unger since 1997, when he stopped working on his own syndicated comic strip, FARCUSĀ®, to help manage HERMAN. Weisglass was a longtime friend and mentee of Unger, and the two had a close relationship that extended beyond the world of comics.
