After graduation, Larson worked a variety of odd jobs, including delivering milk, working in a factory, and designing greeting cards. In 1976, he landed a job as a staff cartoonist at the Seattle Times, where he created his first comic strip, Nature’s Way.
In 1980, Larson created The Far Side, which quickly became one of the most popular comic strips in the world. The strip featured a mix of animals, humans, and other creatures, all of whom engaged in bizarre and often surrealistic situations.
