Story

Kuch Ankahi is a contemporary, lighthearted drama with many messages. The satirical drama addresses issues such as women’s legal and religious right to property, workplace harassment, pressuring girls for marriage, body shaming, and many other issues that are prevalent in Pakistani society.

The star-studded drama serial reuniting Sajal Aly and Bilal Abbass premiered on Saturday, and social media users are already praising its forward narrative. With its comical and emotional dialogues, Aly claims that Kuch Ankahi will remind users of the old school days of PTV family dramas that are still etched in people’s minds.

Concerning the plot, Aly stated that there are few such dramas where the plot feels personal. “We’re talking about women empowerment and this project has so many women at the centre of the story with their own individual narratives. Aly Said We’re not only helping each other in the script, but also on set. Story

Aliya, played by Sajal Aly, is Agha Jan’s middle child. She works as a real estate agent and stays up late to deal with all of the claims on her father’s house. She doesn’t have time for marriage, or even love.
Salman, played by Bilal Abbas Khan, is a young man who enters Agha’s house as a tenant and then Aliya’s life as a friend. He also works as a real estate agent. He has a soft spot in his heart for Aliya because of her struggle.

Taniya, played by Qudsia Ali, is Agha Jan’s youngest and most adored daughter. Taniya has been subjected to body shaming since she was a child. She is studying filmmaking and hopes to make it big in the industry.

Sofia, played by Vaneeza Ahmed, is Agha Jan’s sister and a role model for her nieces. She wants Agha to give her her rightful share of her father’s property. Despite her dislike for Agha, she adores his family. She is a widow who has lived her life on her own terms.
