Comics: A bunch of cows standing on their hind legs in a pasture is featured in one of the most memorable Far Side cartoons. One of the cows in the front turns to the others and asks, “Hey, did you guys hear about that mad cow disease?” It’s terrifying.” This cartoon exemplifies Larson’s skill at using animals to comment on human behaviour and society issues.

Another iconic Far Side cartoon depicts a swarm of penguins on an ice floe. “I say, let’s all be sensible about this,” one of the penguins, sporting a top hat and monocle, says to the others. We don’t want to go the way of the dodos, do we?” This cartoon is an excellent illustration of Larson’s use of anthropomorphism, or giving human qualities to non-human entities, to create humorous situations.

With all due respect, it is stated there that these comic strips are only for fan entertainment. All of these comic series are the work of well-known artists.
